Product Description
The exhaust manifold, as a critical component of a car engine, directly impacts the engine's performance, lifespan, and environmental characteristics. During operation, the exhaust manifold endures cyclical thermal shocks and operates continuously at high temperatures, making its working conditions extremely harsh. Therefore, the material used for the exhaust manifold must have excellent high-temperature resistance and thermal fatigue performance. With the continuous advancement of engine technology, exhaust temperatures have gradually increased, leading to the development of materials used for exhaust manifolds from gray cast iron, ductile cast iron, vermicular graphite cast iron, silicon-molybdenum ductile iron, to high-nickel austenitic ductile iron. Currently, silicon-molybdenum ductile iron and high-nickel austenitic ductile iron are commonly used.
With the adoption of direct fuel injection and turbocharging technologies, engine exhaust temperatures have reached 950°C, and even up to 1100°C. Silicon-molybdenum ductile iron and high-nickel ductile iron are no longer able to meet these engine operating conditions. Our technical team has actively improved the casting process, successfully achieving mass production of heat-resistant cast steel exhaust manifolds. Our heat-resistant cast steel exhaust manifolds exhibit excellent overall mechanical properties, with a significantly reduced part wall thickness (in some cases, the exhaust manifold wall thickness is reduced to 3mm), thus contributing to vehicle lightweighting. Additionally, compared to high-nickel austenitic ductile iron, austenitic heat-resistant cast steel requires less of the expensive metal nickel, significantly reducing material costs and offering a greater price advantage.
